C360 Brass
C360 is a widely used free-cutting brass known for its excellent machinability, good corrosion resistance, and dimensional stability. It is particularly suitable for high-speed CNC turning, drilling, and threading, making it a common choice for high-volume production of complex precision brass components.
Appearance & Properties
Color: Golden yellow to brass yellow
Density: Approx. 8.5 g/cm³
Tensile Strength: Approx. 340–470 MPa (depending on material condition)
Corrosion Resistance: Good
Machinability: Excellent
Electrical Conductivity: Moderate
Thermal Conductivity: Good
Weldability: Poor
Magnetism: Non-magnetic
Surface Finishes: Polishing, nickel plating, chrome plating, tin plating, etc.
Typical Applications
C360 Brass is widely used in automotive, electrical and electronics, instrumentation, industrial equipment, hardware, and fluid-control systems.
Typical parts include fittings, valve components, threaded parts, connectors, bushings, sleeves, nuts, precision terminals, and various high-volume CNC turned components.
Advantages
• Excellent CNC machinability
• High cutting efficiency and good chip breaking
• Good machined surface quality and dimensional accuracy
• Good corrosion resistance
• Ideal for high-volume precision turned components
Limitations
• Lower strength than high-strength steels and some copper alloys
• Poor weldability
• Contains lead, so regulatory requirements should be verified for drinking-water, food-contact, and restricted-substance applications
• Not suitable for high-load or high-temperature structural components
