C954 Aluminum Bronze
C954 is a high-strength aluminum bronze known for its good wear resistance, corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and high mechanical strength. Compared with conventional brass and bearing bronze, it is better suited for components operating under heavy loads, severe wear, and marine conditions.
Appearance & Properties
Color: Golden yellow to golden-brown
Density: Approx. 7.5 g/cm³
Tensile Strength: Approx. 580–760 MPa (depending on material condition)
Corrosion Resistance: Excellent
Machinability: Moderate
Wear Resistance: Excellent
Impact Resistance: Good
Strength: High
Magnetism: Slightly magnetic or nearly non-magnetic, depending on composition and condition
Surface Finishes: Polishing, grinding, bead blasting, plating, etc.
Typical Applications
C954 Aluminum Bronze is widely used in marine, offshore, oil and gas, industrial machinery, pumps and valves, heavy equipment, and power transmission systems.
Typical parts include bushings, sleeves, gears, worm gears, valve components, pump parts, guides, wear plates, and high-load wear-resistant CNC components.
Advantages
• High strength and good load-bearing capacity
• Excellent wear resistance
• Good seawater and corrosion resistance
• Good impact and anti-seizure performance
• Suitable for heavy-load and severe-wear applications
Limitations
• More difficult to CNC machine than C932 and C360
• Relatively high material cost
• Lower electrical conductivity than pure copper and some brass alloys
• Increased tool wear when machining harder conditions
