H62 Brass
H62 is a widely used copper-zinc brass containing approximately 60.5%–63.5% copper. It offers a good combination of strength, ductility, formability, and corrosion resistance. Widely used in Chinese industrial manufacturing, H62 is suitable for stamping, bending, turning, milling, and general precision component production.
Appearance & Properties
Color: Golden yellow to bright yellow
Density: Approx. 8.4–8.5 g/cm³
Tensile Strength: Approx. 300–500+ MPa (depending on material condition)
Corrosion Resistance: Good
Machinability: Moderate
Formability: Good
Electrical Conductivity: Moderate
Magnetism: Non-magnetic
Surface Finishes: Polishing, nickel plating, chrome plating, tin plating, etc.
Typical Applications
H62 Brass is widely used in electrical and electronics, automotive, industrial equipment, instrumentation, hardware, and general machinery.
Typical parts include connectors, sleeves, washers, nuts, terminals, brackets, decorative components, stamped parts, and various CNC machined brass components.
Advantages
• Good strength and ductility
• Good stamping and forming performance
• Good corrosion resistance
• Easy to polish and surface finish
• Widely used with a good balance of performance and cost
Limitations
• Lower CNC machinability than free-cutting brass such as C360
• Lower strength and wear resistance than high-strength copper alloys
• Not ideal for highly loaded structural components
• Dezincification and stress-corrosion cracking should be considered in certain environments
