C18150 Copper Alloy
C18150 is a chromium-zirconium copper alloy (CuCrZr) combining high electrical and thermal conductivity with increased strength, wear resistance, and resistance to softening at elevated temperatures. Compared with pure copper grades such as C110 and C101, it offers significantly higher mechanical strength while maintaining better conductivity than many high-strength copper alloys such as C17200.
Appearance & Properties
Color: Reddish copper to reddish-brown
Density: Approx. 8.9 g/cm³
Electrical Conductivity: Good to excellent, typically approx. 75–85% IACS
Thermal Conductivity: Excellent
Corrosion Resistance: Good
Machinability: Good
Strength: High
Wear Resistance: Good
Softening Resistance: Excellent
Magnetism: Essentially non-magnetic
Surface Finishes: Polishing, nickel plating, tin plating, silver plating, etc.
Typical Applications
C18150 is widely used in automotive, electrical and electronics, new energy, welding equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, and industrial applications.
Typical parts include resistance-welding electrodes, electrode caps, welding wheels, conductive fixtures, connectors, electrical contacts, heat-transfer components, and high-strength conductive CNC parts.
Advantages
• Good electrical and thermal conductivity
• Significantly higher strength than pure copper
• Good wear and softening resistance
• Suitable for conductive components operating at elevated temperatures
• Particularly suitable for resistance-welding electrodes and high-load electrical components
Limitations
• Lower electrical conductivity than high-purity C101 and C110 copper
• Higher material cost than conventional pure copper
• Final properties depend significantly on heat-treatment condition
• Not ideal when maximum electrical conductivity is the primary requirement
