C260 Brass
C260, also known as Cartridge Brass, is a widely used copper-zinc alloy typically containing approximately 70% copper and 30% zinc. It offers excellent ductility, formability, and good corrosion resistance. Compared with C360, C260 is better suited for stamping, deep drawing, and bending, while it can also be CNC machined for various precision components.
Appearance & Properties
Color: Golden yellow to bright yellow
Density: Approx. 8.5 g/cm³
Tensile Strength: Approx. 300–550 MPa (depending on material condition)
Corrosion Resistance: Good
Machinability: Moderate
Formability: Excellent
Ductility: Excellent
Electrical Conductivity: Good
Magnetism: Non-magnetic
Surface Finishes: Polishing, nickel plating, chrome plating, tin plating, etc.
Typical Applications
C260 Brass is widely used in electrical and electronics, automotive, instrumentation, hardware, consumer electronics, and industrial equipment.
Typical parts include connectors, terminals, spring contacts, sleeves, decorative components, fasteners, electrical contacts, and various stamped and precision-machined parts.
Advantages
• Excellent ductility and formability
• Good corrosion resistance
• Good electrical and thermal conductivity
• Excellent polishing and appearance
• Particularly suitable for stamping, deep drawing, and bending
Limitations
• Significantly lower CNC machinability than C360
• Limited strength and wear resistance
• Not suitable for highly loaded structural components
• Dezincification and stress-corrosion cracking should be considered in certain environments
