C145 Tellurium Copper
C145 is a free-machining copper alloy containing a small amount of tellurium. It retains high electrical and thermal conductivity while offering significantly improved machinability. Compared with pure copper grades such as C101 and C110, C145 is much easier to CNC turn, mill, and drill, making it particularly suitable for high-volume production of complex conductive precision components.
Appearance & Properties
Color: Reddish copper to reddish-brown
Density: Approx. 8.9 g/cm³
Electrical Conductivity: Excellent, typically around 90% IACS
Thermal Conductivity: Excellent
Corrosion Resistance: Good
Machinability: Excellent
Weldability: Moderate
Strength: Moderate
Magnetism: Non-magnetic
Surface Finishes: Polishing, nickel plating, tin plating, silver plating, etc.
Typical Applications
C145 Tellurium Copper is widely used in electronics, electrical power, semiconductors, automotive, new energy, telecommunications, and precision instrumentation.
Typical parts include connectors, electrical terminals, electrodes, switch components, electrical contacts, threaded conductive parts, sensor components, and precision CNC copper parts.
Advantages
• Excellent CNC machinability
• Maintains high electrical and thermal conductivity
• Good chip-breaking performance for high-speed machining
• Good machined surface quality
• Ideal for high-volume production of complex conductive components
Limitations
• Slightly lower conductivity than C101 and C110 copper
• Lower strength and wear resistance than some high-strength copper alloys
• Material cost can be higher than common pure copper
• Some welding processes require more careful parameter control
